So… here it is. My very new and very lovely website. For those of you who didn’t know, my old domain, letomoon.net, was continually down for almost three weeks. I e-mailed CyberPixel support: no answer. Or at least it took them an extremely long time. And then just as they were beginning to say that my site would be back online, imagine my surprise when I typed in my address and came upon a page of Spanish taunting. I don’t really know a lot of Spanish, but I know enough to figure out that my site had been hacked. And that someone has a really high opinion of himself. Hmm… I should put up the hacked page, for entertainment value if nothing else.
So, that was fun. I sent a really hateful e-mail and my money was instantly refunded, and I had a backup of my site before the hacking. Amazing what you can do when you’re in bitch mode. 🙂
After months of searching I found a host that seems really good, aletiahosting.com. But after I paid I found out that it was really a front for two companies, aletianic.com, which is the domain name propogator, and jaguarpc.com, which I guess does pretty much everything else. I had some problems though. They gave me the domain name unmei.net, and it already belonged to someone else. I was pretty disappointed, because unmei means “destiny” in Japanese, and I thought that would be really nice for a webpage. However, all things happen for a reason, usually for the better, and I found this nice new word, ukiyo. In my Japanese dictionary, the listing is:
ukiyo, n. 1. transitory world. 2. fleeting life.
So I am now completely in love with this word. I’m thinking of getting it tattooed in the middle of my back. You know, if I weren’t allergic to pain. So! This will be the entry for a while, I tried to put all my old archives in this new journal (I had to reinstall Movable Type), but the only way I can do that is to cut and paste 250+ entries, and fuck that. And most of them didn’t make sense anyway, with all this stuff about letomoon.net, so I’ll probably make a journal archive page and separate the letomoon entries and the diaryland entries. Plus I’m going to start putting up all the other sites, and hopefully make some new ones. Definetely some new layouts.
I just turned 21 on July 7th!! Yay!! I didn’t realize how nice it felt until my friends and I went on a Mosby trip yesterday and I ordered a spiked lemonade at Famous Dave’s Barbeque. Ah… the pleasures of being legal. But I’m on this big kick now to reinvent myself. Since I am technically an adult now, I feel like I need to improve a lot of things about me and my life. I hope I reflect that on this website. That’s another reason I’m not putting past journal entries on this one. I feel like I need a fresh start, and to put the past behind me.
