I’ve been thinking a lot about how cramped everything is in Japan. I have mild claustrophobia, but I’m thinking I’m going to have to get over this, because here’s something very common in Japan, and that’s a capsule hotel. Here is a picture taken from this guy’s site of one of the capsules.
They’re actually not as bad as I thought. He said he’s a pretty big guy and he fits in there okay. It has a TV, radio, alarm, and being Japanese, some porn. That kind of raises another issue. How well do they clean these things?
Actually, I probably won’t ever stay in one of these unless I just want to. I’ll be staying either with a family or by myself in an apartment, or in a youth hostel. Yay for youth hostels!!
