Above are my Mother’s Day photos. My mom and grandma and I went to church and then Baker’s. Yum! And I have updated the photography page. It’s now like a monthly photo diary, and remember to hover on a picture for an explanation, and click to enlarge. Well, only on the photography page.

Janel’s house Tuesday. Dear lord that was a crazy night. Wow. Much fun though. We watched the first Harry Potter movie, which immediately got me really excited about the third one coming out, and as soon as I got home, I had to start reading the books again. I really have no clue how they’re going to keep making just one movie for each book. The fifth book is over 800 pages.

Last night at Paul and Bryan’s was really fun!!! I got to see Jessica and Andy, who I haven’t seen in forever, and I got most everybody’s address and stuff. Oh yeah, please feel free to e-mail me your address, phone number(s), and birthdate so I can put it in my address book and send you a postcard when I get to Hawai’i.

This morning, I had my 5th lightning encounter. You may or may not already know that I have been almost struck by lightning four times. This morning, I wasn’t really almost struck, so now I’m calling them “lightning encounters.” Or, in other words, encounters of the electrical kind. I was sitting in my living room in the chair close to the window (which is MY chair), enjoying the thunder and reading, and all of a sudden there’s a very bright flash, I hear some kind of a pop or a snap somewhere in my house, and then my toes started tingling very strongly. It just lasted for an instant, but I immediately realized that electricity was exiting my body through my toes. Also I was kind of disoriented for a minute. It’s very weird to describe what that feels like if you haven’t experienced it. The lightning shivers, what I call them, has happened to me several times, usually when I’m outside and there’s lightning about half a mile away or closer. It’s very much like that little crackly feeling you get when you’re standing right next to a TV when it’s turned on or off but much stronger, but then again, that just might be me as well. What can I say? I have an electric personality. 😀

Sorry… anyway this is the strongest I’ve ever felt it. I’ve also accidentally touched my thumb to a prong as I was plugging it in. That one really hurt, but it was just in the one area. Lightning shivers are all over, like it’s an expanding field in the atmosphere. Very odd…

Well, hope I’m okay tonight. Tyler and Alesha and I are going to try to go to Tulsa and eat at Mimi’s Cafe and go dancing, but that may be canceled on account of the weather. We’ll see… Konbanwa minna-san!!

Some photos from our Studio 54/310 Tulsa trip. An excellent time was had by all!! Wow, today Tyler and I went to work out, and afterwards we ate at Azalea Cafe and got to see Tiffany! Yay! There’s been a couple of things really heavy on my mind lately, and I just poured out my soul to Tyler, and he really made me feel lots better. Thanks Tyler!!!

I’m kind of behind on the pictures here, so tomorrow I’ll post pictures from Mother’s Day, last night at Janel’s and tonight at Bryan’s, and then I’ll try to stay updated on time. 😀 Ja ne!

Excuse me when I say, “Wah!”

I hate it when I’m in these moods. They really suck. I suck. Everything sucks. Hence why I hate these moods. I’m not sure why, but I just realized that I am so totally left out. But in a really weird way. Like it’s fate or something. It’s not really so much because of the way I am or the way other people are, it’s just… there. Have you ever felt so alone it’s as if outside of your door, no one else exists? I could walk out right now and not see anybody. Even my mom, if she were here. I would see them, but I wouldn’t SEE them. They wouldn’t see me. And that is true loneliness. And I say this all very factual, because I don’t necessarily feel sad, I’m just observing. And no matter where I go… Hawaii, Japan, I’ll still be alone. My facet of the universe will be forever encaged in the glassy walls of my mind, because there is no true connection.

And at the same time we are all connected… I don’t understand it.

(I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead*

*I think I made you up inside my head)

Hey, I just realized that the last entry was my 100th since I’ve been on ukiyo.net. Yay pointless drivel x 100!!!

OH!! When I was at work, I discovered that there already IS a movie called Blood Work. It has Clint Eastwood in it. So… yeah.

Oh, and I discovered this really nifty thing to make everyone comment more. Hehehe. It makes it really easy to comment, and to read the comments because they just pop down. I’ll probably get around to putting it up next week, among other nifty things I’ve discovered. I think you should even expect a new layout sometime in the future. There’s this really awesome thing you can do with placement tags, which I just realized I’m sure you’re not interested in. Anyway, I’ve known about it for a long time but never really implemented it, so I want to try that. Also something more colorful. This is too plain for me. I’m so picky and fickle. I’m pickle. Or ficky. Whichever.

Thanks for the comment Scott. Yay not from Houston!! I should start a webring.

Hey…. I’m kind of an idiot sometimes. I realize this. I just needed to say that.

This morning, I had a physical. I don’t think I’ve ever had a physical before, EVER. It was kind of scary. Actually, the only part I was scared of was if they were going to take blood or not. I didn’t really think about anything else I had to do. I got my vitals, had to pee in a little cup (well, it was a big cup… not like I missed or anything… can girls even miss?), and then the nasty words… BLOOD WORK. That’s like the title of a slasher movie or something. So I was really nervous. Shaking nervous. I told the lady doing it that I haven’t had any blood taken since I was 11, and she said that’s a bad age to get it. This… didn’t really make any sense to me. I think she was trying to make me feel better. But she was really good and it didn’t even hurt. I’m such a wimp when it comes to anticipation. Then the doctor saw me and I had to do all these funky exercises. I did pretty good on everything except for touching my toes, but I’ve never been able to do that.

Because my skin really disliked the tape she put on after the bloodwork, it now looks like I have several track marks. Just so you know.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how cramped everything is in Japan. I have mild claustrophobia, but I’m thinking I’m going to have to get over this, because here’s something very common in Japan, and that’s a capsule hotel. Here is a picture taken from this guy’s site of one of the capsules.

They’re actually not as bad as I thought. He said he’s a pretty big guy and he fits in there okay. It has a TV, radio, alarm, and being Japanese, some porn. That kind of raises another issue. How well do they clean these things?

Actually, I probably won’t ever stay in one of these unless I just want to. I’ll be staying either with a family or by myself in an apartment, or in a youth hostel. Yay for youth hostels!!

I really like/dislike looking at other people’s blogs/journals. I usually find an eloquent person’s link page and peruse to my heart’s content, but I always feel empty and disappointed at the end. Not because their sites sucked, but because MINE does. It feels like high school all over again. It’s one big popularity contest. Now they have this thing called a blogroll. It’s basically a self-updating list of blogs. It just… I don’t know. It’s a good idea, but….

Why don’t any strangers read my site? There are journals out there that are really not so interesting and they get visitors from all over the world. I mean, mine’s not really that interesting either, but I at least expect… I don’t know… comments from really weird people or something. Arg.

And then, I don’t know why, there’s always about three or four bloggers that are from Houston. And not only are they from Houston, but they LOVE to take pictures of this beautiful city that always puts a jagged thorn in my esophagus. I don’t know why. I feel… okay about the situation. Rephrase: I don’t really know if one could ever be okay with their first love breaking it off by moving to another state, falling in love and reproducing in the span of 10 months, but I have ACCEPTED it. I mean, I’m friends with him now. I talk to him on the phone and there is no icky residue afterwards. It doesn’t even bother me to find memorabilia of our relationship anymore. “Hey, a love letter. Huh.” toss But there is just something about seeing Houston that really bothers me. Maybe it’s because the week that I spent there is associated with some of the worst emotions I have ever felt. Or maybe it’s the smog. I don’t know. I just feel pain when I see pictures of it, or read stories about from people who live there.

Hmm. Perhaps my subconscious mind refuses to believe it actually exists. “Houston? No, no silly. You can’t go there… it’s like Atlantis. Or better yet, the Underworld, separated from reality by Death and Death alone.” I’m still not certain that Hawaii exists, for the same reason except on the other end of the spectrum. I don’t think I’ll truly believe in it until my foot hits the ground stepping off the plane. Of course, even then I can’t be entirely sure that it’s the actual Hawaii we see on the map. We’d be going over hundreds of miles of ocean. They could be taking me anywhere. Sometime during the flight (probably with the meal) they slipped me something that transports me to this fictitious universe where people actually get to carry out a lifetime dream. (Really, I feel so lucky to even have this opportunity, even though I was the one to make it happen. I really need to change my mentality to optimism.)

sigh I’m confused. I don’t really know what I’m trying to say. Maybe “I’m happy.” Maybe. But that scares me. It always has. Or maybe it’s happiness that’s scared of me. Either way, I’m getting one of those blogroll thingies.

I have officially been accepted to the University of Hawai’i at Hilo.

Is it just me, or is it really weird to take a shower while it’s raining outside? I don’t know, it just kind of seems pointless, in a way. I’m really freaking hungry. My stomach just growled really loudly and I thought it was thunder. I’ve been eating a whole lot in the past few days though… like always becoming uncomfortably full, so being hungry actually feels good.

I did some yoga yesterday… very nice. And I don’t know if you’ve seen me, but I got a spray tan and I’m really dark. I like it, although… I kinda miss the white me. Lindsey, the other white meat. Hahaha…. cough As I compare myself to pork.

I cleaned out my closet the other day and decided to give my prom dress to charity. But not before I took a few memorial pictures of it. They turned out kind of weird because of the lighting. The dress is actually a light blue. I think the dress is really pretty but I look at it now and think that the person I am now would choose something more fun, more flashy, something I could really dance in. But back then, I was all about the fairytale prom, which actually, all that preparation and expectation made it suck. So… there ya go, life lesson. Don’t plan too much. Just have fun.

Yesterday Alesha, Becky and I were hanging out when the sirens went off, AGAIN. So what did we, as good Okies, do? We ran outside, of course. Alesha and I had our cameras ready, determined to get a good picture of a tornado. But Muskogee proper hasn’t been hit by a tornado in 60-some odd years (Not counting OG&E. That’s not in city limits.) and so it blew by us once again.

At one point we were trying to get on Alesha’s roof, and succeeded with her car and a stepladder, but the view wasn’t that great up there, and before we had the stepladder I tried to hoist myself up and really hurt my stomach. It’s all bruised now. We are such idiots. The storm made a lot of cool swirly-cloud-ness but no tornado. The picture up there is kind of bad. Why do pictures of the sky hardly ever turn out that good? Anyway, there’s some kind of spark or light in the picture and I have no idea what it is. Lightning? Rain drop reflecting street light? UFO? Ghosts? Your guess is as good as mine. But the clouds were really turning, and it kind of looked like a donut. Or the scene from Ghostbusters above the tower. I would just really like to see a tornado. Just once. I’ve seen several funnel clouds but no tornado. Argh. I should have been a storm chaser.

Gah!! I have posted all my pictures taken with my digital camera on the photography page, and therefore have none left to post on an entry. And today… was just not a photo op day, let me tell ya.

I’m tired… and a little sad for some reason unbeknownst to me… and my hamster Cosmo pooed on my hand when I was holding him earlier… that really sucks.

I have finished Alias Season 1, and I have to say I really love the show. Not as much as Roswell, or Buffy, but very close to ER and highly entertaining. I’ve also been watching Sex and the City, which is… okay. I guess. Kinda funny. I actually like it because the episodes are only 30 minutes long.

I need to take a moment and tell all my faithful readers just how much I appreciate you. I mean… yeah, I like to hear myself talk, er, type, but it’s just not the same if nobody’s there to read it. I really love you guys. little tear And I have SOME friends that don’t ever take the time. And although my purpose is not to count or judge, you kind of notice a difference with your online friends. It’s like you know each other on two sides, and I really like that. I’m just rambling, anyway. As long as I have internet access, I will have a website, no matter who’s reading. I’m not really sure when that became the rule. I think the 9th grade. Wow. Eight years. I’ve had a website for eight years. Well, not just one, but you know what I mean, I guess. I wish I had some pictures of my very earliest Geocities pages, but then again I kinda don’t. I bet they sucked.

So this is me… Lindsey… revealing personal thoughts to the unknown masses once again. Feeling a little lonely, but slightly comforted by the soothing mechanical computer hum once again. Changing and becoming a woman I don’t yet know once again.
